The following article is a draft and details are not final! Students and Staff members are eligible to accommodation options in Seiiki. Why make Kokoro your Home? Living at Kokoro provides many benefits over living elsewhere. Here are some highlights: Privacy You’ll have great privacy in your home thanks to it being in a skybox and the camera distance limit. Your space is yours - We offer custom made security systems that make sure the only people in your space are the ones you invited in yourself. Quality Not only is your apartment custom built for the sim, but you’ll be living in a managed and themed town where nearly everything has been designed and made just for the sim. There really are no other places like Kokoro. Social Life You’ll have easy access to community space, shopping, parks and social places such as bars and restaurants where it is easy to meet like-minded people with similar interests. With Kokoro on your doorstep, it’s always easy to go and see friends, hang out at the town or in your school. Flexibility We offer an array of accommodation options with different rental tiers and offer discounts on rent for participating in clubs, classes and activities within the sim. We have accommodation for those who want to spend a little more and get extra, and we also have ways to get accommodation for those who are more budget conscious and it is even possible to get a space for free with participation in the sim. All of our accommodation comes with basic facilities, but we are able to also offer free Pre-Furnishment from our furniture catalogue. Accommodation Options We offer two types of accommodation - Apartments and Halls Apartments Our apartments offer maximum independence with their own kitchens, bathrooms and living space. Halls Halls are a more social form of living. You get your own private dormitory room, but share the building with other residents, having shared facilities such as kitchen, bathrooms, washing and drying etc. We offer dorms for single and dual occupants. Tier Our base tier is the tier before any discounts are applied. Current tier pricing: Type Bedrooms / Max Occupants Base Tier Luxury Apartment 1 / 2 200L$ /w Standard Apartment 1 / 2 150L$ /w Halls – Large Room Suitable for up to two occupants 1 / 2 100L$ /w Halls – Small Room 1 / 1 50L$ /w Tier is not charged per-occupant, it costs the same to have one person as it does to have two – You might find it more economic to choose to move in with a fellow student! We reserve the right to adjust our tier and discounts a maximum of once every 12 months for existing renters. Discounts We currently offer two types of discounts to help make our accommodation more accessible. Activity Discounts We offer a 50L$/w discount per (active) class/club or town activity each occupant participates in Organiser Discounts We offer a 100L$/w discount per (active) class/club or town activity each occupant organises/runs. Discounts are added up and subtracted from the base tier. For example, a Luxury Apartment (200L$/w) would cost 50L$ per week if you studied in one class (-50L$) and were a member of two clubs (-100L$). It’s possible to get accommodation for free if the occupants have enough discounts. Other Discount Details Activity - Discounts only apply to active clubs/classes etc that are regularly meeting up and the occupant is a regular participant in. If we feel this is not the case, we may choose not offer these discounts – That is at our discretion. Discount Eligibility - We check which discounts our occupants are no longer eligible for once every 6 months – Once in January and June. If the occupant has since lost discounts and the tier will go up, we will give 14 days’ notice after which the tier will be adjusted.4 points

Connecting Seiiki and Kokoro Academy, the Ropeway is the sole means of transport between the two islands. Tickets A ticket is required by guests wishing to access the campus grounds. To obtain a ticket, simply click the ticket machine in Seiiki station. You can then use your ticket to pass through the ticket gates. You do not require a ticket to leave Kokoro Academy. Ticket Types Depending on your relationship with Kokoro Academy, the ticket machine will issue you a different type of ticket:- Guest Ticket You are visiting Kokoro Academy as a Guest. Please be considerate of Curricular activities that may be occurring at the school. Student Ticket You are issued this ticket if you are a student. Students have no visit limits. Special Ticket You are issued this ticket if you have been granted special access to the school. EG A teacher or other special guest. Kokoro only allows extended stays to those who are students or staff. In general, we want new guests to visit us and say hello but only those who are a part of the Academy will be granted a longer stay. Our ticket system limits guest visits to 7 per month per guest. This is a rolling 30 day period from the time the first ticket was issued to you in the last 30 days. Your ticket will remain valid for 24 hours. During the first 12 hours of your stay, you may freely pass back and forth between the town and the academy - The ticket machine will simply give you a copy of your ticket and this will not count towards your visit limit. After 12 hours clicking the ticket machine will issue a new ticket and this will count towards your visit limit. We may issue a guest extra tickets if we feel they have made an effort to integrate with us, dress appropriately and show good compatibility with our school. Read our Appearance Guidelines and learn about Enrolment for more information. Guest Entry - Other Restrictions Please note that entry to our campus for guests is not guaranteed. Kokoro Academy is to many of us a home and should be respected as such. We let people in largely when we feel up to it - which whilst happens to be most of the time, is not all of the time. We often shut our doors for various reasons. We might be running an event, or have taken on many new guests recently, or simply just don't feel like letting people in at any given time - It's our campus, please respect it. Do not harass people for entry. In general we aim to grow our community at a sustainable rate. We keep close knit and depending on how busy Kokoro is we may choose to focus on existing students and guests rather than admitting new ones in for longer.3 points

About Clubs Clubs are a place to meet and engage with like-minded students and engage in fun activities. Clubs may be roleplay focused, or be out of character. Every club has an organiser who manages activities and regular meet-ups. Clubs also have a sponsor (usually, a teacher) to help supervise and check on things from time to time. Member Etiquette Always consult the organiser before inviting non-members to a club meeting. Let the club organiser know when you are unable to attend at first opportunity. Let the organiser know if you no longer wish to be a part of the club. Finding Clubs Find Clubs that have not yet started (Proposal Phase) in the Club Proposals Section. Find Clubs that are already running in the Club Directory. Joining Clubs Students at Kokoro Academy may join Clubs. You may sign up to Clubs that are in the proposal phase by replying to it's thread in Club Proposals. For clubs that are already running, contact the Club's Organiser. Start A Club Initiate a club proposal: Fill out the club Proposal Form and post it in the Proposals section Your proposal will be reviewed, you will be informed in case any changes are necessary. Once accepted, the club will enter a two week recruitment period. During this time, applicants must each reply to the proposal supplying their general availability in SLT. No further action is required during this period, although it is suggested to go look for club members and get them to sign up! Decide on meeting times and location You will be asked to decide on meeting times in SLT for your club, along with the location. A successful club proposal will have a minimum of 5 members (including the organiser) who are able to attend the club meetings. Clubs may have a maximum of 12 members (including the organiser) All recruited club members must have an availability that falls in the proposed meeting time for the club Opening your club A new Club will be created in the Club Directory for you. The Club area will include sections including Topics, Events and a Blog. The Topics Area is visible to Club Members only. You can use it for internal discussions relating to your club. You should schedule upcoming meetings in the Club's Events section. You should select your timezone when entering the event and enter the meeting time in your own time rather than SLT. Club Members will be able to see upcoming events from the Calendar or from the Club's Events section. The forum software will display the meeting time to members in their own timezone. To be safe, put the time in SLT in the event's description. The Blog Area is visible to public, you can use this to blog about Club activities etc. You may make posters for your club, they may be applied to hallway noticeboards and classroom noticeboards (You must use Kokoro's supplied mesh paper, prim posters will be returned!) Kokoro aims to provide an immersive anime-fantasy environment with the aesthetic of a slice of life visual novel. To achieve this end, we require from our guests to adhere to our standards with regard to their avatar appearance if they wish to participate on sim. For all guests, anime heads are required. As a guest spends more time on the sim, we expect them to work on their avatar to suit the aesthetic of the sim if they wish to be allowed to stay with us in the long term. Aesthetic Considerations Style Anime comes in many different styles, but Kokoro's is one of a visual novel. Think Koi-Choco, Toradora, Shuffle! rather than Bleach, Naruto or Dragon Ball Z. This style is about taking the human form and simplifying it to it's most basic and elegant lines, the shading is intentionally kept flatter and simpler - It's not about what you can add, it's about what you can take away. Height Kokoro is built to scale and so are its inhabitants. You should create your avatar to scale. We do make exceptions for fantasy races of characters that are smaller, as such characters fit into our VN Aesthetic, but not larger characters. Average Male/Female height by Country Head to Body ratio The key to making your avatar look older or younger is the head to body ratio. The larger your head is relative to your body, the younger you will look, whilst having a smaller head will make your character seem more mature. On Campus When you ride the cable car down from the town of Seiiki, the entire island is Kokoro's Campus Grounds. You should be dressed appropriately either as a student or as a staff member before riding the Ropeway to campus grounds. During your first few days it is acceptable to simply visit dressed how you are. However, you should begin working on an avatar appropriate for long term use at Kokoro. A guest may visit Kokoro Academy's Campus as an Exchange Student or an Exchange Teacher. Depending on which you choose, there are different aesthetic requirements. Students Bodies Students at Kokoro by and large will be younger and smaller than our staff and must not use mature bodies such as Maitreya, Jake, Legacy or other body designed for more mature proportions. Instead they should use bodies with less exaggerated features such as the Kemono and Kuroo. These bodies being 'anime by default' typically do not require changes to skin etc as they are designed to fit an anime Aesthetic to begin with, but you should avoid wearing skins that increase the detail density of the body or attempt to make the skin more 'realistic' with exaggerated highlights and shadows etc. Outfit On campus, all participating as students must wear School Uniforms or other school attire such as Gym Uniforms, School Swimwear etc. You are not required to wear Kokoro's Official School Uniform, even if you have been issued one, however you are required to wear *a* school uniform. Note that, if not wearing our official uniform, your character will be considered an exchange student. Please refrain from impersonating our students. Acts that can deceive such as copying the official school attire or claiming to be an enrolled student when you are not is frowned on and will cause you to overstay your welcome. Teachers and other Staff Bodies Teachers should be taller and more mature in appearance to students. We allow the use of bodies such as Maitreya, Jake and other realistic human avatars, however these bodies are not 'anime by default' in the sense that their skins are usually detail dense with intricately shaded details such as shaded kneecaps, elbows, hands and use of strong highlights and shadows. These skins are not suited for an anime avatar, and an anime skin will need to be found for the character that has more flat shading and reduces the amount of detail within the skin. Outfit Whilst teachers and staff do not wear school uniforms, they must wear smart business attire whilst on Campus.2 points

The following commands allow you to customise various aspects of the experience to suit your preferences. Use any command in our sim by typing it into local chat. RLV WindLight The sim uses RLV WindLight to control the sky, lighting, and other graphical aspects of the environment. Use the following commands to turn the WindLight on (default) or off. /50 won /50 woff Scripted Camera When moving around the sim, sometimes the camera is scripted to tilt up or down at inclines to give a better view. Use the following commands to turn the Scripted Camera on (default) or off. /50 cam on /50 cam off Ambient Sounds The Sim's HUD plays ambient sounds that change depending on where you are within the sim and the time of day. Use the following commands to control the volume of ambient sounds. By default, the volume is medium. /1 amb.off /1 amb.low /1 amb.med /1 amb.high /1 amb.higher /1 amb.highest Safe Exit Presently, due to a bug in SecondLife, teleporting out of experience regions can cause temporary HUD's to get stuck to your avatar, along with RLV Restrictions when you leave the sim. Ordinarily, the only way to fix this bug is to relog. To get around this limitation, Kokoro has built a mechanism called Safe Exit which allows you to exit the region without this bug occurring. Click the exit button on your HUD to exit to your exit destination (Default: AMH) How to set a custom exit destination You can set your custom exit destination to home, amh or an arbitrary SLurl. Get an SLurl to a destination by right clicking a landmark in your inventory and choosing Copy SLurl. Exit directly from chat You can also exit directly from chat. The following commands are valid.1 point

Notice Kokoro Academy is a Region in the virtual world SecondLife. We're not a real school, our staff are generally not qualified or acting in a professional capacity - It is all roleplay. Our sim is adult rated and although we do not make adult themes a focus of our sim, you may indeed encounter adult activities. You must be at least 18 years old to visit Kokoro Academy. ...With that said Kokoro Academy would not be much of an Academy without its students Our Aims and Commitments Kokoro aims to help its students make meaningful relationships and lead fulfilling lives. We work to provide Classes, Clubs and Events to our students, and a Roleplay environment with a cohesive theme full of activities and facilities that is fun to visit day in day out. We aim to be a students first environment, providing a community and a sense of belonging to our students. We want to grow with them and stick with them through thick and thin. Duties of a Student To be a student at Kokoro means to accept a duty of care both to yourself and those around you. As a student you are expected to practice self discipline to help you exercise better control of your day to day life and be in a position to help yourself and those around you. You have a duty to:- Carry out regular exercise and maintain a healthy diet. A healthy body will lead to a healthy mind. Participate in Clubs and Activities Our extra curricular activities are there to help you form meaningful relationships with your classmates, so you can build a support network and have friends for life. Study and attend lessons Our lessons are there to give you confidence and new skills that you can take with you in your life, beyond your time at our school. How do I become a student? What to do Do Make sure your avatar follows our Appearance Guidelines for students. Visit regularly and take the time to get to know our students on-campus, and let them get to know you too. Introduce yourself to members of the Student Council and the Captain. Register an account on the forum. We use it to organize classes, clubs and activities. Make yourself aware of Customs and Etiquette in our sim. Do not Ask us to make you a student We do not have a formal application process. There are no forms for you to fill out, our administrators and staff do not have the ability to make you a student either - Don't ask them. The Process Becoming a Student at Kokoro Academy takes time. We operate a Student Council which discusses these matters periodically. You will be most likely to be considered if:- During your visits to Kokoro, we feel you have made an effort to get to know our students, and let them get to know you and that you have made a positive impression on our students. You have made a positive impression on your Captain. Your avatar follows our Appearance Guidelines. During the first weeks of your visit, we will not discuss with you whether or not you can become a student, we consider this time for you to establish yourself, where we can get to know you, and you get to know us. After two or three weeks we will generally communicate with you about your relationship with Kokoro and provide feedback on whether or not you can enroll with us.1 point
