  1. Currently working on the Cable Car Station. Yesterday developed tooling to allow export/positioning of models precisely in-world  which will be necessary due to station being at an angle inworld

I went to sleep immediately after RL work yesterday so I could wake up early and put my energy into this. I have begun chopping up the new mesh station into smaller parts to allow it to drop through LOD Models and keep the LI down. Making Physics mesh too.

The station will start with some provisional textures. The whole town island will need re-uploading due to the new shape/entry location of the station.

  2. 6pm SLT
  3. Following feedback from the Dance Club, I have decided to increase the member limit from 9 to 12 members (including the organiser) Information about joining and starting clubs has been revised to mention that you must be a student at Kokoro to join a club, and also reflect that we now use the Club Directory and the Club Events Calendar. The Information about Clubs has been moved to an article on the Knowledge base and the old threads deleted.

    Clubs

About Clubs Clubs are a place to meet and engage with like-minded students and engage in fun activities. Clubs may be roleplay focused, or be out of character. Every club has an organiser who manages activities and regular meet-ups. Clubs also have a sponsor (usually, a teacher) to help supervise and check on things from time to time. Member Etiquette Always consult the organiser before inviting non-members to a club meeting. Let the club organiser know when you are unable to attend at first opportunity. Let the organiser know if you no longer wish to be a part of the club. Finding Clubs Find Clubs that have not yet started (Proposal Phase) in the Club Proposals Section. Find Clubs that are already running in the Club Directory. Joining Clubs Students at Kokoro Academy may join Clubs. You may sign up to Clubs that are in the proposal phase by replying to it's thread in Club Proposals. For clubs that are already running, contact the Club's Organiser. Start A Club Initiate a club proposal: Fill out the club Proposal Form and post it in the Proposals section Your proposal will be reviewed, you will be informed in case any changes are necessary. Once accepted, the club will enter a two week recruitment period. During this time, applicants must each reply to the proposal supplying their general availability in SLT. No further action is required during this period, although it is suggested to go look for club members and get them to sign up! Decide on meeting times and location You will be asked to decide on meeting times in SLT for your club, along with the location. A successful club proposal will have a minimum of 5 members (including the organiser) who are able to attend the club meetings. Clubs may have a maximum of 12 members (including the organiser) All recruited club members must have an availability that falls in the proposed meeting time for the club Opening your club A new Club will be created in the Club Directory for you. The Club area will include sections including Topics, Events and a Blog. The Topics Area is visible to Club Members only. You can use it for internal discussions relating to your club. You should schedule upcoming meetings in the Club's Events section. You should select your timezone when entering the event and enter the meeting time in your own time rather than SLT. Club Members will be able to see upcoming events from the Calendar or from the Club's Events section. The forum software will display the meeting time to members in their own timezone. To be safe, put the time in SLT in the event's description. The Blog Area is visible to public, you can use this to blog about Club activities etc. You may make posters for your club, they may be applied to hallway noticeboards and classroom noticeboards (You must use Kokoro's supplied mesh paper, prim posters will be returned!) Get ready for your first meet! Have fun! Proposal Form Club name Supply a club name that briefly summarizes what your club would be about Activities What activities would members be taking part in, by joining the club? Frequency How frequently would club activities occur? Organiser's General Availability Describe your general week-by-week Monday to Sunday availability in SLT
  5. This club has been approved, and is now recruiting members. If you would like to sign up, please register your interest below and provide your general availability in SLT.
  6. They're here! After much work, Kokoro Academy for the first time now has male uniforms available to its students! Our male Uniform has some subtle details of their own that we are sure students will enjoy~ Buttons 心 is Kanji for Kokoro Our Gakurans have golden buttons with a custom design by Ni. Did you know it is a custom during your graduation ceremony to give the second button of your Gakuran to your sweetheart? It is considered a confession of love! Like our girl Uniform, the male uniform too contains two golden ropes to give a sense of duty. They are placed on the right hand arm - The sword arm - because we want our boys to know that one of the gifts of being a male is strength! Men have naturally stronger bodies and we want them to consider it their duty to use it for good! Make sure to train those muscles so that you can serve and protect the people you care the most about! Of course our Uniform would not be a Kokoro Uniform if it did not have our twin hearts somewhere. On the boys, we thought that it looked pretty stylish on the tails of the jacket! (The girls wear theirs on the back of their collar) Currently, we have the Uniform rigged to Kuroo and will be distributing it to all our existing students. We will be working on bringing it over to the Kemono w/ Male Chest over the coming weeks. That's all for now!
  7. Besides a few minor rigging issues, we very nearly have a serviceable male uniform for the Kuroo~

Managed to get it up. Only took all night. Well, that's enough battles for one night. An initial look at the Uniform in world the rigging seems OK, with a few minor issues, but for the most part servicable. Textures to go!

  11. Hello Scribble welcome to the forums. You should write something about yourself so others have a chance to get to know you. What are your hobbies? Where are you from?
  12. Just fixed the in-world password resets

  13. Use of our Campus Whilst it is common for our students to hang-out on our campus, and whilst we do often also let guests hang-out with us on campus (in a limited capacity), our campus should not be mistaken for a public hangout. Kokoro’s campus is primarily a place for learning, self-improvement and socialisation for students and exchange students. It is a relaxed environment with loose expectations – But not an environment with no expectations. We invite you to join us, but please come with the mindset of someone who wishes to have meaningful interactions with us and our school, and make good use of your time at Kokoro. You should also make sure you come dressed for campus too. Social Etiquette Socialisation at Kokoro should be thought of as a two-way thing. We ask guests to approach others not just to take company, but also to give company. We don’t expect our guests to be social butterflies, but we do expect them to try. Not all who are alone are lonely. People wander off on their own in the sim for many different reasons, it’s good practice to ask a person or group of people if it’s OK to join them before doing so to avoid intruding on situations where people do not wish to be disturbed. In real life, many people would feel uncomfortable if a stranger walked up to them and then stood in silence near them. At Kokoro it is no different – It’s good practice to at minimum introduce yourself briefly to anybody who might not know who you are if you intend to spend time around them. A little bit of time spent getting to know each other goes a long way towards everyone’s happiness. Peaceful Environment Kokoro does its best to maintain a peaceful environment for all guests to enjoy. Please help us maintain the peace by doing the following: - Only play loud music or sounds if those near you appreciate it In general we are quieter people and like to listen to nature and also hear ourselves think. There are times we like to party and celebrate and do silly things, but Kokoro is overall not a party sim. Use rez rights for small items only Although we appreciate our baseball field is large and flat, it’s not a sandbox. It is frowned upon to rez large distracting items such as buildings, vehicles etc. Please also note that our sim does not have auto-return, remember to clean up rezzed items before you leave the sim. Please refrain from ‘shock’ content designed to invoke disgust or discomfort etc. We are aware that some users enjoy this kind of content, but not all do. Avoid visual pollution and laggy content such as floating text, color changers, particles etc. Slower Pace of Life In general, you should come to Kokoro with the intent to stay for a while to meet and talk to people during the day, rather than because you want to talk to someone right this moment. You should expect that not everyone who is on sim may wish to socialise immediately. Beelining - The act of turning up at the sim and going as fast as you can directly to whoever is on the sim is frowned upon, please respect the pace of life in the sim. Breaking immersion for other guests by using things such as movement enhancers, flight, sit teleport etc will land you in trouble - Don't do it. The only form of fast travel that is acceptable at Kokoro is to request a teleport from the person you wish to join, as this gives the other person a choice and now you are someone who was invited rather than someone who intruded. Misc Roleplay Day-to-day, Roleplay at Kokoro is laid back. Whilst we do play out our roles i.e. students or teachers in different ways such as how we address each other, how we dress and the activities we do in the sim during the day, we do not maintain a strict out of character/in character boundary that might be found in other sims or games such as Dungeons and Dragons. Politics It is OK to talk about politics from time to time at Kokoro, so long as the people around are enjoying it. Keep in mind that Kokoro has people with a wide range of political beliefs, backgrounds, countries and outlook on the world and you must be prepared to accept that not everyone will see eye to eye with you. Whilst we allow some political discourse, Kokoro is not an appropriate place to set up a soap box as it breaks immersion in our sim - Political symbology on avatars or rezzed items etc is also frowned upon for the same reason - Please do not do it. Adult Content Kokoro is an adult rated sim and you and your character must be 18+ to participate. With that said we do not have a focus on adult content, please do not turn up to our sim in full BDSM gear or naked - It's not that kind of place. Questions? We hope the information provided here gives you an idea of what to expect and what is expected at Kokoro. Of course if you have any questions please feel free to ask me Ai (extrude.ragu) in-world and I will do my best to answer them for you!
  14. Firestorm with RLV under default settings works fine. That is what the majority of our visitors use including myself. I can only suggest that you try resetting your settings if it bothers you that much. I am not leaving this topic up to further discussion as I have no plans to make changes to this. Thanks.
  15. No, there is no option for this. My position on this is that the social experience at Kokoro is based around text chat and roleplay. SecondLife is not designed for VR and neither is our school. There is already enough work to do at Kokoro and this simply is not a priority for me. If you're looking for a VR experience, try VR Chat.

  17. Hello Duckie, welcome to Kokoro Look forward to meeting you in-world
  18. Kokoro aims to provide an immersive anime-fantasy environment with the aesthetic of a slice of life visual novel. To achieve this end, we require from our guests to adhere to our standards with regard to their avatar appearance if they wish to participate on sim. For all guests, anime heads are required. As a guest spends more time on the sim, we expect them to work on their avatar to suit the aesthetic of the sim if they wish to be allowed to stay with us in the long term. Aesthetic Considerations Style Anime comes in many different styles, but Kokoro's is one of a visual novel. Think Koi-Choco, Toradora, Shuffle! rather than Bleach, Naruto or Dragon Ball Z. This style is about taking the human form and simplifying it to it's most basic and elegant lines, the shading is intentionally kept flatter and simpler - It's not about what you can add, it's about what you can take away. Height Kokoro is built to scale and so are its inhabitants. You should create your avatar to scale. We do make exceptions for fantasy races of characters that are smaller, as such characters fit into our VN Aesthetic, but not larger characters. Average Male/Female height by Country Head to Body ratio The key to making your avatar look older or younger is the head to body ratio. The larger your head is relative to your body, the younger you will look, whilst having a smaller head will make your character seem more mature. On Campus When you ride the cable car down from the town of Seiiki, the entire island is Kokoro's Campus Grounds. You should be dressed appropriately either as a student or as a staff member before riding the Ropeway to campus grounds. During your first few days it is acceptable to simply visit dressed how you are. However, you should begin working on an avatar appropriate for long term use at Kokoro. A guest may visit Kokoro Academy's Campus as an Exchange Student or an Exchange Teacher. Depending on which you choose, there are different aesthetic requirements. Students Bodies Students at Kokoro by and large will be younger and smaller than our staff and must not use mature bodies such as Maitreya, Jake, Legacy or other body designed for more mature proportions. Instead they should use bodies with less exaggerated features such as the Kemono and Kuroo. These bodies being 'anime by default' typically do not require changes to skin etc as they are designed to fit an anime Aesthetic to begin with, but you should avoid wearing skins that increase the detail density of the body or attempt to make the skin more 'realistic' with exaggerated highlights and shadows etc. Outfit On campus, all participating as students must wear School Uniforms or other school attire such as Gym Uniforms, School Swimwear etc. You are not required to wear Kokoro's Official School Uniform, even if you have been issued one, however you are required to wear *a* school uniform. Note that, if not wearing our official uniform, your character will be considered an exchange student. Please refrain from impersonating our students. Acts that can deceive such as copying the official school attire or claiming to be an enrolled student when you are not is frowned on and will cause you to overstay your welcome. Teachers and other Staff Bodies Teachers should be taller and more mature in appearance to students. We allow the use of bodies such as Maitreya, Jake and other realistic human avatars, however these bodies are not 'anime by default' in the sense that their skins are usually detail dense with intricately shaded details such as shaded kneecaps, elbows, hands and use of strong highlights and shadows. These skins are not suited for an anime avatar, and an anime skin will need to be found for the character that has more flat shading and reduces the amount of detail within the skin. Outfit Whilst teachers and staff do not wear school uniforms, they must wear smart business attire whilst on Campus.

    Enrolment

Notice Kokoro Academy is a Region in the virtual world SecondLife. We're not a real school, our staff are generally not qualified or acting in a professional capacity - It is all roleplay. Our sim is adult rated and although we do not make adult themes a focus of our sim, you may indeed encounter adult activities. You must be at least 18 years old to visit Kokoro Academy. ...With that said Kokoro Academy would not be much of an Academy without its students Our Aims and Commitments Kokoro aims to help its students make meaningful relationships and lead fulfilling lives. We work to provide Classes, Clubs and Events to our students, and a Roleplay environment with a cohesive theme full of activities and facilities that is fun to visit day in day out. We aim to be a students first environment, providing a community and a sense of belonging to our students. We want to grow with them and stick with them through thick and thin. Duties of a Student To be a student at Kokoro means to accept a duty of care both to yourself and those around you. As a student you are expected to practice self discipline to help you exercise better control of your day to day life and be in a position to help yourself and those around you. You have a duty to:- Carry out regular exercise and maintain a healthy diet. A healthy body will lead to a healthy mind. Participate in Clubs and Activities Our extra curricular activities are there to help you form meaningful relationships with your classmates, so you can build a support network and have friends for life. Study and attend lessons Our lessons are there to give you confidence and new skills that you can take with you in your life, beyond your time at our school. How do I become a student? What to do Do Make sure your avatar follows our Appearance Guidelines for students. Visit regularly and take the time to get to know our students on-campus, and let them get to know you too. Introduce yourself to members of the Student Council and the Captain. Register an account on the forum. We use it to organize classes, clubs and activities. Make yourself aware of Customs and Etiquette in our sim. Do not Ask us to make you a student We do not have a formal application process. There are no forms for you to fill out, our administrators and staff do not have the ability to make you a student either - Don't ask them. The Process Becoming a Student at Kokoro Academy takes time. We operate a Student Council which discusses these matters periodically. You will be most likely to be considered if:- During your visits to Kokoro, we feel you have made an effort to get to know our students, and let them get to know you and that you have made a positive impression on our students. You have made a positive impression on your Captain. Your avatar follows our Appearance Guidelines. During the first weeks of your visit, we will not discuss with you whether or not you can become a student, we consider this time for you to establish yourself, where we can get to know you, and you get to know us. After two or three weeks we will generally communicate with you about your relationship with Kokoro and provide feedback on whether or not you can enroll with us.
  20. Hello Aurora, nice to meet you the other day~
